Fairfax, Virginia - In a video interview on Sunday, Professor Darshan Singh Khalsa talked about the thakt jathedaars' offer to accept an apology from anyone declared thankhaayaa and allow those persons back into the fold of the Panth. He also discussed the role of the Akaal Thakt, Dasam Granth and Punjab politics following his kirtan on June 20 for Guru Arjan Dev ji's Gurpurab at the Sikh Sangat of Virginia.

Springfield, Virginia - Professor Darshan Singh Khalsa will not be apologizing to the jathedaars. The five takht jathedaars earlier this month offered to allow back into the Panth everyone that had been excommunicated, if they submit an apology to the Akal Takht. But Darshan Singh, who was excommunicated in January, today said that apologizing to the Akal Takht would be meaningless.

Silver Spring, Maryland - Little voices filled the gurdwara today for nearly 10 hours with gurmat sangeet during the 6th annual Washington Capital Region Kirtan Sammelan. What started out with about 75 kids in 2005 has grown to 150 participants. While more than half were from the host gurdwara, Guru Nanak Foundation of America, in Maryland, jathaas came from other mid and north Atlantic states.
