By Kamaljeet Singh - This is the photograph of the Panja Sahib iconic rock with the imprint of Guru Nanak’s hand in Hasan Abdal, Pakistan. We visited the holy place on January 6, 2006. The two marble plaques on either side show the names of individuals who have made donations.
They are placed such that you cannot see the full sanctum, not even the whole rock, as evident in this photo. It is a disgrace to the Panth. The management, and particularly those donors who insisted on displaying them in front of the Holy “Panja,” should have some shame. They have disgraced the sanctum for the sake of their own selfish publicity.
I urge the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee (SGPC) and the entire Sikh Sadh Sangat to have this abomination removed and placed somewhere else.
When I read the names on the plaques, I feel complete revulsion instead of purported appreciation towards the individuals!
