The fist 911 call was made at about 11:30 EST. One of the police officers was ambushed by the gunman and shot, said Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards. A second officer engaged the gunman and shot and killed him. They "stopped a tragic event that could have been a lot worse," he said.
