Guru Nanak Praised at White House Celebration

Bhai Niranjan Singh and Bhai Sucha Singh sang three shabads, in between speeches from Sikh organizations and the Department of Justice. About 125 Sikhs from around the country gathered at the White House complex to celebrate Guru Nanak's parkash gurpurab on Friday, Dec. 7.

Rajwant Singh, chairman of the Maryland-based Sikh Council on Religion and Education, center, and Paul Monteiro, associate director for the White House Office of Public Engagement, wearing a saropaa, organized the "Observance of the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji" at the White House complex last Friday.
